<p>[Page 98]</p><p>Thursday, 6 September 1917<br />Weather fine. Rose at 8.15. After breakfast played piano player. At 11.30 went for drive with Edie. Called on Mrs Linder near the &#39;Roebuck&#39; &amp; met Phyllis her daughter. Returned home to lunch &amp; Bertha (Mrs Riley) was there. In evening Sidney called. Very regretfully took my leave at 6.30. Have had a glorious time &amp; they have been so very kind to me. Arrived camp 1.30 am.</p><p>Friday, 7 September 1917<br />Today did a little drill. Am on guard tonight. A draft goes on Tuesday &amp; I think Sully is in it. Weather is beautiful. On guard at 5 pm.</p>
