<p>[Page 59]</p><p>Wednesday, 20 June 1917<br />Should have sailed this morning but when ropes & gangway were cast off and tugs alongside the sailing was cancelled. Granted leave from 2 pm to 10 pm. Visited Art Gallery, Museum, Gardens & took train to Sea Point & returned by train to town arriving about 5.45. Had a good look round the town which is bigger than Durban with more whites.</p><p>Thursday, 21 June 1917<br />At 7 am moved to a wharf at right angles to that occupied by us the last two days. Washing parade until 12 noon. Leave granted in afternoon. Football match between F.A. [Field Artillery] & Infantry, former won 47 to 3. Saw match for 20 minutes & went into town . Sent cable home. Went to Parliament House & heard debate where we saw Botha, Mr Merriman & others. Returned to ship at 10 o'clock.</p>
