The watch must keep a sharp outlook as there is a possibility of enemy warships or torpedo boats being in Tsingtau.

We arrive at 4 o'clock in the bay and give a signal for recognition. A minelayer guides us through the minefield . We make fast at the coaling station.

In Tsingtau everybody is astounded that we have brought in such a good prize. Here all sorts of rumours were about, that the Emden had many wounded aboard, also that she had been in action with
