<p>[Page 59]</p><p>Wednesday, 20 June 1917<br />Should have sailed this morning but when ropes &amp; gangway were cast off and tugs alongside the sailing was cancelled. Granted leave from 2 pm to 10 pm. Visited Art Gallery, Museum, Gardens &amp; took train to Sea Point &amp; returned by train to town arriving about 5.45. Had a good look round the town which is bigger than Durban with more whites.</p><p>Thursday, 21 June 1917<br />At 7 am moved to a wharf at right angles to that occupied by us the last two days. Washing parade until 12 noon. Leave granted in afternoon. Football match between F.A. [Field Artillery] &amp; Infantry, former won 47 to 3. Saw match for 20 minutes &amp; went into town . Sent cable home. Went to Parliament House &amp; heard debate where we saw Botha, Mr Merriman &amp; others. Returned to ship at 10 o&#39;clock.</p>
