<p>[Page 58]</p><p>Monday, 18 June 1917<br />Sea still rough but moderated towards evening. About 7.30 pm we passed a hospital ship all lit up. Think it was the "Oxfordshire". Are just about rounding the Cape of [Good Hope] & should reach Cape Town tomorrow. Half an hour later we passed another Hosp. ship.</p><p>Tuesday, 19 June 1917<br />At daybreak land was in sight and we proceeded into port coming alongside wharf at 12 noon & thus arrived at Cape Town. Was on guard but got ashore at 7pm to 10pm. The rest of the troops were granted leave at 2 pm. Being dark when I was on shore could not see much of town. Table Mountain was very clear all day with cloth on it.</p>
