Monday 4
Wood fighting all day.  Received letter from Aunt in morning, afternoon same drill, night time went up to Lamotte had a shave lady barber.

Tuesday
Rained all day morning route march afternoon instructions in wood fighting, night time went up to village of Lamotte.

Wednesday 6
Instructions all day on trench life and gas attacks, night time went into Lamotte village.

Thursday 7
Left La Motte about nine en route for Bac-St-Maur, arrived and stopped in a dirty billet about four, marched about fifteen miles passed through Merville, Estairs, [Estaires] Sailly, Bac-St-Maur outskirts.
