Friday 21
Inspected by General in morning, afternoon got ready to move out to the front.

Saturday 22
Left Etaples camp 4 o'clock for the front, arrived @ Steenwerck.  Marched through Sailly arrived at Bac-St. Amour [Bac-Saint-Maur] about 5, saw aeroplanes bombarded, heard battalion cut up.

Sunday 23
Fell in couple of times in morning, after dinner drafted in A Coy, got rations and marched down to Battalion and got billeted in an old weaving factory.  Not much noise from line late in afternoon saw aeroplane bombarded with shells from enemys lines.
