missing since the 4th was found drowned in the docks after 11 days immersion. The sight of all the searchlights seeking amongst the clouds all night long for hostile air craft is a splendid one.
Monday 18th[19th] July 1915. Called on Fr Davidson shortly after breakfast stayed ½ hour or so. After dinner Purser and Self went ashore. Called at C & D line offices for which he had some papers. Walked down to a place in Newgate street where I had my phisog[?] taken. Purser then had a couple of cables to despatch so we called at the GPO. He wanted them to be got through with as little delay as possible and as all cablegrams must be censored, and are slightly delayed by having to go through
