mud & had to be left behind After coaling & taking on water we steamed out of Suez about 2 pm with the Hospital ship Kanowna about 15 minutes in front of us The weather began to get hot & the sea calm as we went through the Red Sea We passed the big rocks known as the (Twelve Apostles) on 24 Jan about 3 pm Passed a troop ship bound for England about 7 pm & also a light-house on a reef just about the place known as (Hell's Gates) We had calm seas pretty well all the way from Suez to Colombo & arrived at Colombo at 8am on 1st Feb The water & coal barges were soon alongside
