On parade on 16th Dec we were told by C.O that No 2 Batt of O. T. B comprising 2nd & 3rd Divs would be leaving for Australia during the second ten days of January Christmas soon came round & we were served up with a real good dinner. The Christmas leave was cut down from 10days to seven & five days Volunteers for Australia were called for to sail on 3rd January All those that volunteered had to forgo their leave. After a lot of fooling around we were finally put in No 6 Coy on a boat roll for the Orsova Snow fell on Jan 3rd about seven or eight inches
