My deafness is worse. I go for dinner and get the fateful letter. I am completely knocked over. The thought of the worry and mental strain I have caused her to have made her set out to write it, on top of the feeling of my awful loss caused me to leave work. I go to the hospital for relief but get none. I see Gibly and Wiley. I go home and spend 1½ hours on my ear and get relief. I go to Todd's with Dad and fail to ring P.P. I go to Westerways and laugh and talk the sad times away. I go home very humbly and sadly. .
