I've been laughing at it ever since. Of course no white man ever did live in the Jordan Valley in mid-summer for the reason in the EEF is that all white troops are to be withdrawnfrom the Valley and only the Indians and Australians left there.
However we are now well out of it & have no mood to see Jerico or Sh**et Nun*** or Nasrullah or the Dead Sea or the Jordan again
