weve heared about the Saucy Arethus
The Lion and Big Lizzie & the rest;
But honestly, between just me and you Sir,
The Raglan is the Ship we love the best.

For the Skipper paid a visit to our trenches,
He wandered in an d out amongst the ruck;
Its hotter here than Flanders, where old French is,
So he sent us round a Bottle - just for luck..

We're sorry he was wounded in the Venture,

Were glad the wounding wasn't any worse,

Were glad to sent that Fizzy old thirst-quesncher;
(We're Sorry this is rather rotten verse.)

[Thats my modesty] X

So we drank his health in bumpers at Headquarters
(And drank again to Sharpe, and Bolton too.
Long may the foot old RaglanSail the Waters.
May  [indecipherable] be soon an Admiral of the Blue.

At the part where it says 'rather rotten verse you should have all said "Oh not at all." Say it now "Oh not at all"   Thanks. again   "Oh not at All"   that's food.

Ive had a copy of this (Ahem) poem specially illustrated  [indecipherable] our black & white (whisky) astist & presented to the skipper of the Raglan. When he reads the poem he might be (angry?)   Kind enough to send more   [indecipherable] & then I would write more poems (Heaven forbid.).   Oh very well.
