My dear old Mither & Dad
The Cable about my poor Anne reached me yesterday and I'm terribly distressed. At first I was so stressed I could hardly realize what it meant. Its cruelly hard to think I will never see my poor dear Anne any more. It must be a very very sad time for you, and I'm thinking of you all the time.
The cable we sent on July 16 but for some reason was addressed to 14th Australian General Hospital at Port Said. I cannot understand why it was sent there & I hope you did not address it there, for I've never seen the inside of a hospital in Egypt except as a visitor. In facy I have been in excellent health all along.
