<p>[Page 56]<br />March 19 Sun We have splendid Quarters here a Mess Room with Piano. I am in a Sub. Section. Out on Parade at 6 a.m. this morning Asked for permission & got it to go to Mass & Confession. We all assembled in the open air and stood up to break wind off the altar. 2 P.M. All Paraded in full dress with all our clothes in one kit bag had to get rid of a lot of clothes. We were issued with all we were short of. Horses harnesed as well.</p><p>March 20 Mon Out early this morning I got the job of Mounted orderly for the Brigade Headquarters for the day Had a good horse “Old Finley" very lively First time on horseback since joining the colors. All Packed to-day all leave stopped drew 24 hours rattion. Just at the last I with about 3 others were cut of the strength They were overstrength camped with First Reinf.</p>
