Verbesina aemella.  Linn.

The Virtues of this Plant, which are thought very considerable, have now procured it a place in the Materia Medica.
It grows in Ceylon from whence it is brought to Holland.

Phyllanthus emblica. Linn.

The Emblic Myrobalan of the Shops, is the Fruit of this Plant.
It grows in Malabar and Ceylon.

27.

Kæmpferia galanga. Linn.  The Galingal Plant.

Of Galingal there are two kinds, the lesser and the larger: of which the former comes from China, and the latter from Java, but both are thought to be the Roots of this Species.  The Plant grows wild in Java, about 2 feet high, with a white flower and pointed leaves, and the Javanese use both the Herb, and the Green Root in their Sallads.E
It grows also in the Philippine Islands.

28.

Amomum grana Paradisi.  Linn.

This is the plant which produces the Drug called the Grain of Paradise.
It grows in the Islands of Ceylon and Madascar.

29.

Andropogon nardus.  Linn.

Linnæus supposes this to be the plant which produces the Indian Spikenard, a Drug which is chiefly imported to Europe from Java, where it grows plentifully and
