The root of this Plant is the Officinal Teddary.
It grows in Ceylon and Malabar.

The Root of this Plant has of late been introduced into the Materia Medica.
It grows in Java, Sumatra and Ceylon.

This Tree which grows plentifully in Java, and particularly in the Neighbourhood of Batavia, affords the best kind of that Resinous Substance called Sanguis Draconis, and is brought from thence by the Dutch into Europe, where it is used as a Medicine, and for several Mechanical Purposes, especially for Varnishes.
This Tree CommelinB  once raised in the Amsterdam Gardens from Indian Seeds.
