Govr. Paterson on his arrival promising their support in giving full satisfaction to me and to the Government, of our Most gracious Sovereign, in this Colony, for the gross insult and injury done in the Arrest of my person whom they revered and expressing their confidence in him, that he would take prompt and effectual means to secure the principals in this most unjustifiable transaction; also a copy of one to him, to the same effect from some of the loyal Settlers at the Hawkesbury, who likewise came out as
