          56 - I have only to observe on this Proclamation that the Colony was in a most tranquil state, and the Inhabitants happy except McArthur and his Party who was alarmed at the issue of his Trial and seemed uneasy that he could not be above all law.

27th 

          57th - The next day a general order as I was informed, was published as follows.

General Order

"Richard Atkins Esqre Judge Advocate is superceded from that Office, and (a) Edward Abbott Esqre. (1.) is appointed Judge Advocate during his suspension, Anthony Fenn Kemp Esq., (2.) John Harris Esqre, (3.) Thomas Jamison Esqre (4.), Charles Grimes Esqre (5.), Willm Minchin Esqre (6.), Garnham Blaxcell Esqre, (7.) John Blaxland Esqre (8.) and Archibald Bell Esqre (9.) are appointed Magistrates, and these Persons who heretofore performed the Duties of that Office are to consider themselves dismissed.  Lieutenant Lawson (10.) is appointed Aid [Aide] de Camp  to his Honor [Honour] the Lieutenant Governor, Nicholas Bayly Esqre (11.) is appointed Secretary
