<p>[Page 47]<br />March 1916 1 Wed Fourth section on Guard this morning I missed it again. just put in the day, bit of marching, sleeping, smoking and reading. We get our Egyptian allowance of 8 ½ per day yet. Plenty to eat good holesome food. Plenty of nap.</p><p>2 Thur Fourteen of us told off this morning with shovels to fill some manure in trenches out on Desert about half a mile.<br />Went with Jim Garner over to Zeitoun Donkey to Hellmed Station Walked over to Mr Mason’s rooms for Soldiers Did some writing reading very cosy little spot.</p>
