<p>[Page 142]<br />Sep 7 Thur Mess orderly again my neck is nearly all-right again. Nice sunny day rain all gone. Few shells flying about last night, some close. Went down for bath met Corp. Ingham again in the trench Mortar’s also Bomb. Mitchell.</p><p>Sep 8 Fri On cleaning up billet this morning with Gnr Hutton. Started Pit work after Dinner filling sand bags Worked till 12 mid-night. We got a good lot done Plenty of beer and coffee on the job. Fine lot of chaps in this Battery. I only hope I can stop here all through</p>
