<p>[Page 139]<br />September 1 1916 Friday Gun Pit No 3 to be pulled down and re-built. It was too shaken On Guard to-day. 3rd relieve 4 till 6 this morning called the Officers and others for duty. Bomb. Burnside was taken away and burried early this morning Bomb. Brockwell and Sgnt. Young later. We all miss them &amp; feel it very much. Started work on Gun Pit 9 P.M. till 12 Midnight.</p><p>Sep 2 Sat Worked on Pit from 9 A.M. till 12 A.M. then again after tea untill 12 mid-night Did some good work got Capolars in some good workers in the Battery. Dave Sturack and Bomb. Law. etc. Sgnt Mc Conville is now Act. S.M. and has taken charge of A. Sub.
