Plenty of shells about last night We fired a good few rounds about 12 casulties in the infantry fatal others wounded I had too- much wine, beer & champaine last night no good head-ache to night</p><p>Aug 21 Mon Up early first up cleaned out cook-house chimney. after breakfast put new bricks on hearth and made stand for dixies. renovated cook house generally. had a bath , washed tunic in afternoon. helped cook to get tea on then went on guard. Loaded rifle ready for the night.</p>
