<p>[Page 126]<br />Aug 6 Sun I was passed and Drafted as A class Gunner into 5th D.A.C. Leave any time. Went to 8 0&#39;clock mass &amp; Holy Communion We are&nbsp;standing by&nbsp;leaving here any time for the line (about 60 of us Paid this morning &amp; issued with all shortages. Extra gass helmet. Visited the Club with Keher last time untill we come back. Wrote a good few letters.</p><p>Aug 7 Mon 3.15 A.M. All that were going away got up from last sleep in warm blankets in tents Had a drink of tea, and marched off to Railway Siding full marching order. Y.M.C.A. Motor Car with hot cocoa etc on Platform. We entered third class carriages and travelled along through Bolongue Calais to Steinwick marched 5 miles into a billet</p>
