Things forgotten

At Port Said the natives made a disturbance by refusing to carry on with the coaling of the boat. One of the ships cooks forgot himself & emptied a bucket of hot water over the side ∓ it went all over the niggers below. He thought he was still at sea. The strike was soon quelled & the work went on again. The water police were kept hard at work chasing the natives from the side of the boat they were trying to sell things to us & the authorities had forbidden it. A Sentry was given orders to fire on them if they did not obey his first warning he gave
