their labor. And those that do run into the woods, may be soon caught by giving a little encouragement to the Natives. This may be done for a trifle not worth mentioning. Every Governor ought to have natives on his side. He may easily do this, and at the same time keep them within use.
Of people emigrating from the mother country to become settlers I ought to be more communicative, as they are a deluded people. But before I proceed to state in what manner they are duped, I must pass my opinion upon them. There are very few among them that have any knowledge of agriculture, which renders them more incapable of such undertakings. I can form several opinions why they were eager to come here, but shall pass them over in silence. However, though they are unacquainted with farming, yet by being brought up to different trades, they are equally serviceable in a colony like the present.
