You will be able to understand by this plan that from MacCormacks back to the Main Dressing Station the supply of wounded was fairly constant coming from either one line or the other. There was little doubt that MacCormacks was by far the worst carry, as not only was the track less defined & up hill, but it was the thickest in mud & led through a very bad danger zone, made so by the fact that "Fritz" was always feeling for the batterys that were situated near The Crest. The Crest was dangerous for this same reason, although the carry was better going. Here we lost several of our boys.
