left at 2 a.m for the rail head at Godervaersvelde 10 miles away which after part of our column getting lost (me amongst it) we reached at 5.30 a.m. Entrained and left at 8 a.m. I travelled on the flat truck underneath the waggon it was loaded with
Reached Doullens at 2 p.m. unloaded horses & waggons harnessed up & pulled out at 3 p.m.
Doullens was a good sized country town very straggling but clean & picturesque with good shops & I wished we had been halted there. But we pushed on and at about 6 p.m. halted to water &
