the noses of the horses formed by their breath condensing – pulled the blankets over my head at night & woke up to find where my mouth was – it was frozen hard & covered with a white hoar frost on the outside of the blanket – it was my breath condensing

Great difficulty in watering horses as the troughs & shell holes were frozen solid – While washing was just a neglected detail.

Seven days of it did for me & I had to report sick & was at once ordered away to hospital with Bronchitis after passing through various Clearing
