they are sending up 30 waggons each night with road timber to Westhoek Ridge – they struck a rough patch the other night and had 7 waggons blown up – 5 horses Killed several more wounded but luckily only one Driver (Musgrove) wounded.

The air fighting never ceases day & night the Germans are Couple of days ago I saw a German brought down by one of our airmen from a great height the wing of the plane came off & then after the aeroplane had fallen some hundred feet we saw the pilot drop out & come tumbling over down
