at 10-30 tonight. There are altogether 116 officers & men going. At 9-30 we were all medically examined. At 2 pm we were inspected in full marching order at 3-30 we were paid a pound each & I managed to talk the guard over & got out of camp at 10 oclock I went back to camp & fell in. Well it was a sight. Everybody or very nearly was drunk. There were fights in galore. No orders could be heard at all. Everybody was talking at once. Someone gave the order to form fours & march & they did or rather tried to
