March 2nd 1917
We took Fritzys first line last night killed fifty or sixty & captured a machine gun & thirty three prisoners. About fourty casualties on our side.

We expect to go again tonight to capture the ridge.

March 6th 1917
Had just finished a hard days toil digging trenches when I with three others was told to be ready by seven o'clock to fix four bombing shelters in the front line. It was a bright moonlight night. We started from Rose Trench & got into the communication sap. We got about half way through
