A few days after an order was passed in Council that I should proceed to the Moluccas by thee first conveyance, (with the addition of 200 Sacca [Sicca] Rupees pr month, to my original Salary.)
On the 17th of Decembeer 1795 I Saild from Calcutta for Prince Wales Island with a view of taking my passage with the Admiral's Squadron which was then at that Island, but the Admiral Sailed six day previous to my arrival
There was no conveyance to the Moluccas for Six months after, this detention gave me an opportunity of getting acquainted with all the fine fruits & plants of Malacca and of its neighbouring Islands.
On the 18th July 96 I Saild from Malacca on board of H. M. Transport Gloucester, and arrived at Amboyna on the 21st September following.
