We are now back in the Jordan Valley. Since two days as our Allies put it. And it is now a holy terror. A fine powdery dust lies about an inch thick over all of it Scorpions tarantulas etc abound & amongst other things, there is a plague of venomous snakes whose bite is practically certain death. The heat is stifling, occassonally reaching 120° F. Malignant Malaria very prevalent & mosquitos very bad. There you have some faint idea
