April 4th
Still in this damnable Jordan Valley. Yesterday morning some ½ doz. turkish planes came over & bombed us & this morning they were here before I was out of bed; the result being that I had to run out in my pyjamas & dive into an old well about 6 feet deep.
It was just as well that I did so too, for I had no sooner done so than 4 bombs exploded about 10 yds away. We had two white men wounded & eight natives & one
