Left camp 6 am. dull morning on route for Cedars of Lebanon. Travelled along good road which wound round the hills, climbing all the way. Passed thro villages all the way, from half way a fine view of Tripoli & sea. Had lunch by the way. In every village some people spoke English.

Beautiful scenery all the way. All the hillsides terraced off in stones & ploughed. Some crops already above ground. Poplar trees 70 ft high entwined with grape vines. All leaves turning to gold. Pine forest on side of one mountain. All sorts of colouring on rocks & soil. Arrived Bisharie 4 pm.
