We rose yesterday morning at 4 a.m. had breakfast and were taken in busses to within a couple of miles of this town, arriving here per boot about 2.30 p.m. We had the first glimpe of our destination from a hill to the South East of the town. All that could be seen at first were the church spire and the red tiled roofs of a few houses; these were visible only because we were on a very high piece of ground and the village so low 1 – right in the bottom of a beautiful valley.
