On the 24th inst 3 other officers and myself were taken per motor bus to Auchonvillers to witness a communication test carried out according to rules on laid down on the subject by the 4th Army General Staff. A big crowd of officers from the 1st 2nd and 5th Divisions gathered at Auchonvillers Church whe from which point we were taken over the communication routes and had the whole scheme explained by Lt.Col. Powell of Corps Head Quarters staff.
Yesterday I rode out with the Colonel, Major and Adjutant
