Letters to home & M.B. & Ern. Balloons in galore.

Saturday 11th
Showery. Fritz over last night dropping the usual quantity of bombs. The searchlights put the wind up him a bit & he 'about turned' Lecture by Archdeacon Ward on venereal Diseases etc. Very forceful lecture..

Sunday 12th Monday 13th
N. Broughton one of our Reinforcements fractured his tibia by a water cart running over it.

MOUNT KEMMEL
At night Fred Cooke &amp I went to Pierrots & had a hot bath also.

A. MacRay (mock) broke his collarbone falling. Our Division marching out for a rest. All other Australian soldiers & divisions are now close to us. Met Rupe (?) Thompson from 1st Fld Ambulance (Board man)

Thursday 16th
Went up to Mount Kemmel tonight to watch the artillery & saw a beautiful sight. Our guns were going their hardest & in spite of light haze we could [see] the bursts in enemy country. One big gun in particular near Dickbusch
