My Dear James

Yours of 19th came duly to me [?] and George has [?] & left this Morning.  I got up early [?] him & sent an old coat but he shipped off so that I didn't say goodby [goodbye] I trust he will get up safely & without impediments - It is [?] ought to be very grateful for it is a{?] very wet day  -  We were wanting rain very much.  Charles is still undecided & what he will do I know not  -  His path is I fear [?] with thorns that he might turn out the [?] right path & persevere therein to the end  -  you [?] [see?] that the mighty ones are labouring to turn out the present Government
