No. 21 - March 5th 1788
I am sorry I could not send you more than 14 demy Sols the die of Britannia having broken in Hardning.  I hope these peices will be sufficient for the present in which case I will occupy myself in Furnishing you with inch tracings of such parts of the Presses as you can execute in the meantime I will execute here all that is necessary for edging.  When these are brought ready I will come to Soho & you will then be enabled to multiply the presses as much as you chuse.

You should have one expressly for the purpose of stamping the dies which should be in a room by itself that no one might see its construction.

No. 22 - June 2
I have sent you 52 of our demy Sols they are not however yet quite perfect.  I have receivd this £200 - your letter brings me also a peice of money & you are in fear of being supplanted by another candidate but you may be easy - it is struck in a cellar as medals, tell me if you are yet ready for me at Soho.

No. 23 - July 7
I have tried to coin you two halfpence in Plastine but it was too hard.  I have been obliged to repair the dies & will try to temper it harder.  I wish you would allow me a few weeks more tho yours of June 27 desires me to come immediately.  I have several matters to settle but I work wholly on your Balancer.

No. 24 - June 23
I have repaird the head of the King & made a die, if it does not Fail in hardening I shall soon be able to strike.  I am arranging my affairs to be able to leave England France as soon as possible you desire me but I wish for another month at Paris especialy as I have a medal of the King of France which I must Finish at Soho but I
