provided for you except Cloths which are far cheaper in China than in England, you can have then little occasion for money on your own account & you must always Remember, that the Less you indulge yourself in the supply of unnecessary wants during the time of Pilgrimage in Foreign parts, the more reserve you will make for Future Indulgence when the Enjoyment of your [Friends?] & Residence in your own Country will enable every Pleasure that money can Purchase for you.

Annexd to this you will receive such Remarks as I have been able to make on the Plants mentioned by the Abbe Grosier in his description of China & in the 16 Volumes of Publishd by the [indecipherable] the Papers of their missionaries at Peking also a List in the Chinese Character drawn up by Sir Geo Staunton from [indecipherable]
