produced a minuet clothes [indecipherable] powder & all. One fellow made a most charming lady & had some beautiful evening dresses. Altogether it was very good indeed they finished up with the Toreador scene from Carmen if you please! & did it well too.

I went to the concert on the next night, which promised to be as good & was as good as the first night, when it was spoilt by a curious occurrence. There were I suppose some 300 in the audience, all sitting & lying down
