Billy, Dave, Ellis & I go sailing on the Nile. Ice Cream Ghezireh Gardens. Tea at Anzac & Billiards at Y.M.C.A. Billy beat Dave 50, 48. I beat Ellis 50, 48. I beat Billy 50, 34. Dave beat Ellis. Had French Lecon & drinks at Saults. Letters from H. Hey, Home, Mrs. Stephen, Roy, Wal Fisher.

Wrote Roy. Finish No. 2 Hut. Received Photos of Marjorie Melville & letter from Nettie. Last night we met Ken Prior, Capt. of the 51st Artill. Battery at Groppi's.
Thursday 8 June 1916
Start No. 2 Ward, Sydney. Went & met McCoogi. Bought 2 bottles Scent 3 P.T. Met Billy Reid & saw Jack Mitchell in a Gharry.
Friday 9 June 1916
Kit inspection by Major Morris & Lieut. Teece. We pack parcel to send Home. Wrote Marjorie Melville & George (41).

George's Birthday. Went to Cairo for French Lesson.
