in having an Opportunity of doing me Service - On the subject of the Botanical Garden I have Not said a word for I found a very deserving Man in Charge - and rumour said Dr. Hare was already or about to be appointed to th Superintendance of it - this however - is Not confirmed by any thing public - and as Dr. Hare has been Nominated to a place of greater importance - the Manufacture of Gun powder - I have my doubts that he can hold both. -  The Gentleman now in Charge of the Garden - Dr. Wallich - is an Assis:t Surgeon on the Bengal Establishment.  He appears to me a Man highly qualified for the Charge he has - and it would give me pleasure to see him confirmed in it - He has his fears and doubts however - a few days probably may clear them up - I make no doubt you will soon know more about Dr. Wallich - he is about to send Home - addressed to Mr. Brown I believe a large supply of Specimens - I hope mostly of new plants - and shall be glad to hearing it
