Bayonet fighting and gas drill. The time soon went round, & it is more interesting than grooming.

I received a letter from my wife today dated Jan 3 No 10 & one from Eric & his mother also one from Kathleen Miller.

Sunday March 10. 1918. 1315
A beautiful day. A heavy frost last night & bright sunshine & blue sky today.

The clocks were put forward one hour last night.

Monday March 11. 1918. 1316
Another beautiful day. I was blacksmithing most of the day, repairing and plating two broken shafts of the mess cart. I made some needle cases out of some German cartridge cases for my sister this evening.

The Transports were paid today. I did not draw any pay.

The Canteen was sold out early this evening. No condensed milk was to be had, except Ideal
