We had an uneventful voyage to Capetown where we had a day ashore. About a dozen of our lads were left behind & we took on 50 men who had been left behind by another transport.
On the way to West Australia we were voted on the referendum for the modified powers by which the Government could draw reinforcements for the line. We made a quick passage to Melbourne, calling at Fremantle & Adelaide to unload the local contingents. They were peremptory in refusing
