<p class="page" id="a6010009">[Page 9]</p><p>Thursday. 31.10.18.<br/>Waited for a lorry till 12 noon & then went to the club for lunch. Met Phipson & we had lunch together. Managed to get a ride out in a car to Martinville & from there walked to [indecipherable] & reported. Had to ring the Colonel up & find out where I was going. Am still in 'B' Coy. Met all the Coy people. (McGowan, Scriven, The Major, Perkins & Capt. Jackson.) The boys seemed to be pleased to see me. Went for a stroll after tea with Mac.</p><p>Friday 1.11.18<br/>Went out on range for practice. Only 30 yards range. Shooting wasn't bad. Tried my small shooter & it was good. Do me. Went over to 'A' Coy & saw them all. Ross Knuckey came back from Paris leave, Duke came in to have a look at us from his school. Wrote a couple of letters.</p><p>Saturday. 2.11.18.<br/>Major took the company parade & we [indecipherable]. Teale fought in the afternoon & won his fight in 1 ½ minutes. Took on Orderly Officer at 4 pm (1600) after having a hot bath in a captured Fritz bath. Was goods.</p><p>The big dinner of the Battn officers took place at 7.30 & was goods. Gen. Foote was there also Greenway. Some (nearly all) of the officers got drunk & played up, but for all that we had a good time.</p><p>Sunday. 3.11.18<br/>Had very little to do all day. Inspected the guard & the billets & played football in the afternoon. Am Coach of the battn. Team. Put in an application for the Flying Corp. got parcel from Harry Brevett. Played football & the first team lost.</p><p>Monday. 4.11.18.<br/>Drill from 9 am till 1 pm (0900 to 1300). Teale fought again & won in the first round. Changed my billet & now live alongside the mess. Played cards. Armistice with Austria at 3 pm begun.</p><p>Tuesday. 5.11.18.<br/>Took the football team out for a run. It rained all day & made everyone miserable. [indecipherable] went to a court martial.. rained all day.</p><p>Wednesday. 6.11.18.<br/>Had singing class all the morning on account of rain. Went to Oisement for a walk in the rain. Terms of armistice in paper today. Very stiff too for Austria. Rained all day & night.</p>
