that was lying about. the only things we could not shift was the rats, the place was infested with them, had large holes in the ground, lived like Rabbits. we never had much sleep at night for they were running all over us where we slept on the floor in the huts. We visited the township often which was just at the side of us and it was the same as other villages all Military, but a very big place and on the following day Mon 28th/8 I joined the signallers, but still attached to my own Company in the 8th Batt. and went through a few courses during the day, and next day Tues 29th/8 which was raining, we all packed up once more and after two days and a half spell here, Moved off to
