Hospital, and obtained a post card of it & also one of the Village. I got a leaf off the "Chestnut Tree".

This evening pioneer A Holland strained himself lifting a bag of potatoes & was taken to the hospital. He is physically weak & small.

Cool and cloudy today. Cleaning up in the morning and writing letters in the afternoon. [Short hand not transcribed]

Monday August 14, 1916/

A heavy shower this morning before breakfast and occasional showers all day. The Battalion had lectures when it was raining instead of drill. We cleared out the reading room and it will be used from this on for reading games etc.

I had a letter from Mrs B Dilley Doord Hesh Cty Fermanagh Ireland.
